Our next Icon is from Milestone, Saskatchewan. Rod Pedersen first appeared on CKRM in 1991 as voice of the Regina Rams and Saskatchewan Roughrider sideline reporter. Rod talks about leaving to do WHL hockey broadcasts in Prince Albert and returning to CKRM in September of 1995 as voice of the Regina Pats, realizing a lifelong dream. He talks about his start with the Rider Broadcasts that may surprise some, and launching The SportsCage in 2010, which quickly became Saskatchewan’s top-rated talk show. Rod completed his 20 seasons as voice of the Riders in 2018, calling four Grey Cups, a Memorial Cup and World Junior Hockey Championships, all on CKRM.
