What’s a guy gotta do to get some love around here?
Apparently more than setting both his team’s single-season record and the Grey Cup game record for completion percentage, engineering an improbable last-ditch touchdown drive to win the CFL’s West Division final, and being named the Grey Cup’s most valuable player.
But hey, if that’s Trevor Harris’ biggest problem today, it’s probably still a pretty good day.
TSN has ranked the Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback third among QBs and eighth overall in its annual pre-season Top 50 rankings, which were unveiled Monday night.
Among his quarterbacking brethren, Harris trailed Nathan Rourke of the B.C. Lions and Bo Levi Mitchell of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who were ranked first and second overall respectively.
Rourke and Mitchell were also the only two pivots to throw for more regular-season yards than Harris in 2025.
Still, Harris also improved his ranking 16 spots from last year, and topped all Roughriders – who in turn have a league-high nine players on TSN’s list this year.
Among them are Jermarcus Hardrick (10th) and Rolan Milligan Jr. (14th) – the league’s highest-ranked offensive lineman and defensive back respectively.
Milligan was the Riders’ highest-ranked player going into 2025 at No. 2.
Saskatchewan ended up with the second highest-ranked defensive back on TSN’s list as well, with Tevaughn Campbell coming in close behind Milligan at No. 17.
TSN further ranked Riders slotback Samuel Emilus 19th (fourth-highest among receivers), linebacker Jameer Thurman 21st, receiver KeeSean Johnson 22nd, centre Logan Ferland 34th and running back A.J. Ouellette 37th.
Johnson and Ouellette both set career bests for yardage at their respective positions in 2025, while Thurman tied a career high with three quarterback sacks and Emilus was named most outstanding Canadian in Saskatchewan’s Grey Cup victory over the Montreal Alouettes.
Ferland was ranked 37th last year and Thurman 43rd on the TSN list.
None of Hardrick, Campbell, Emilus, Johnson or Ouellette were ranked among the league’s Top 50 by TSN in 2025.
The TiCats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers have the next most players on this year’s list at seven apiece. Montreal and B.C. have six players ranked, the Calgary Stampeders have five and the Edmonton Elks have four, with the Toronto Argonauts and Ottawa RedBlacks bringing up the rear at three apiece.
Former Roughriders on this year’s list include defensive lineman Malik Carney (23), quarterback Zach Collaros (29), linebacker Darnell Sankey (35), defensive back C.J. Reavis (38), linebacker A.J. Allen (42) and receiver Nic Demski (45).
