WAPATA LAKE – Stony Rapids conservation officers are investigating after they discovered a significant amount of wasted fish at a camping area on the north side of Wapata Lake on May 21 at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Officers found 15 whole whitefish, two whole northern pike, and seven whole suckers left to waste. There was also a large pile of filleted fish and discarded parts, that appeared to be mostly walleye and suckers. Officers believe that these fish were dumped at this location sometime between 1 p.m. on May 17 and 3:30 p.m. on May 21.
A cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the individual(s) involved.
