MISTAWASIS FIRST NATION — Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a suspicious death on Mistawasis First Nation.
On June 4 at approximately 6:20 p.m., Shellbrook RCMP received a report of a dead man in a rural area on Mistawasis First Nation.
Shellbrook RCMP immediately responded and secured the scene for further investigation. Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating the death, which is considered suspicious. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is assisting with this ongoing investigation and are working to identify the deceased.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is asking anyone who observed suspicious activity or individuals in Mistawasis First Nation or the Shellbrook areas between the evening of Monday, June 1, and the evening of Thursday, June 4, to call 310‑RCMP.

Investigators advise there will be an increased police presence near the Mistawasis First Nation and Shellbrook area for an undetermined amount of time.
Police say they are unable to provide additional information about this investigation at this time. Updates will be provided when available. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, police will notify the public.
