FORT QU'APPELLE — A tornado warning is in effect for the Qu'Appelle area of Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada issued the red-level alert at 6:36 p.m. June 7 for the communities within the RMs of North Qu'Appelle and South Qu'Appelle.
"Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible," the warning states.
The storm was located over McLean and moving northeast at 30 kilometres per hour.
"This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation," the warning stated.
A separate tornado warning was in effect earlier for the communities in the RM of Churchbridge in east-central Saskatchewan.
