SASKATOON — A man was arrested after police say while he tried to break into a home, while armed with a knife on Saturday. Saskatoon police say the 27-year-old man is now facing assault charges.
On June 6, at around 6:55 p.m., officers were called to the 3100 block of 7th Street East for a weapons call. The caller said a male was in the complainant’s backyard with a knife and was attempting to enter the house.
Police arrived on scene and a man was arrested without further incident. Officers also learned the man had outstanding warrants for his arrest. A further search resulted in police locating a knife.
He has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and breaching court-imposed conditions.
