SASKATOON — A 21-year-old woman was arrested at Pinegrove Correctional Centre on June 10 and charged in connection with Curtis Clarke’s death.
Lovelyn Young appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on June 11 and she was remanded until June 15 to give her time to seek legal counsel.
Young is charged with aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.
On Tuesday Saskatoon police said they arrested 27-year-old Richard Cross and charged him with manslaughter, unlawful confinement, assault, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon (involving a sawed-off shotgun), uttering threats to cause death, aggravated assault, and multiple weapons-related charges.
Court documents allege that Cross committed manslaughter by doing something that caused Curtis Clarke's death — specifically, jumping from a balcony.
Saskatoon police patrol officers responded at approximately 3:45 a.m. on April 9 to the Meadowgreen area, in the 500 block of Avenue X South, for a report of an injured person. The 39-year-old victim was taken to hospital by Medavie Health Services West, where he was later pronounced dead.
Saskatoon police say their investigation is ongoing.
