BIRD PLACE – La Ronge RCMP are investigating a shooting.
La Ronge RCMP are working to locate Sampson Roberts, who is wanted on warrant in relation to a shooting investigation.
On June 11 at approximately 2:45 p.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of a shooting on Bird Place.
The investigation determined an altercation occurred between two adult males outside a residence. During the altercation, one of the males discharged a firearm and the second male was injured. The armed male left driving a car he took from the scene. The male victim was taken to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious, but non-life-threatening, in nature.
On the morning of June 12, La Ronge RCMP located and recovered the car the male suspect was described as driving at the time of the incident. At this time, the suspect has not been located.
As a result of the continued investigation, 25-year-old Sampson Roberts, from the La Ronge area, is charged with:
- one count, discharge firearm with intent;
- one count, robbery – with firearm;
- one count, operation while prohibited;
- one count, possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized; and
- two counts, weapons possession contrary to order.
A warrant has been issued for Sampson Roberts’s arrest. La Ronge RCMP continue work to locate Roberts and ask members of the public to report sightings and information on his whereabouts.

- Weight: 145 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour/style: brown
