PRINCE ALBERT — A 30-year-old man is unlawfully at large after an administrative error led to his release from custody last month, said Saskatchewan Ministry of Community Safety in a media release June 16.
The Ministry said Brednor Wahpistikwan was mistakenly released on May 28. He was required to remain remanded until his scheduled court appearance on July 14, in relation to four weapons-related offences.
The Ministry warns the public not to attempt to approach Wahpistikwa and immediately report any sightings to police.
Wahpistikwan is about 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. He has a tattoo of a potion bottle on his right arm and a heart tattoo on his right hand.
The Ministry didn’t identify which jail Wahpistikwan was mistakenly released, but they said the Prince Albert Police Service and Pierceland RCMP have been notified.
If you have seen or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact your local police service, your local RCMP detachment (310-RCMP), or call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477).
