PRINCE ALBERT — A 36-year-old Saskatoon man charged in a series of offences across northern Saskatchewan was sentenced to jail time on June 12 in Prince Albert Provincial Court after pleading guilty.
Brennan Sewap was given 360 days for flight from police. After 258 days’ credit for time served, he has 102 days left to serve. He was sentenced to a further 360 days consecutive on a charge of dangerous driving, and given a three-year driving prohibition. He was also sentenced to 90 days concurrent for resisting a police officer.
Following his guilty plea, nine charges were withdrawn, including possession of property valued over $5,000 obtained by crime, driving while prohibited, transporting a firearm in an unsafe manner, possession of a firearm knowing its possession was unauthorized, possession of a firearm in a vehicle, two counts of possession of weapons/firearms contrary to a court order, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
At the time of Sewap’s arrest in December 2025, he was wanted in connection with a robbery on Muskoday First Nation. Following his arrest, police laid 14 additional charges.
RCMP released Sewap’s photo after receiving a report that a firearm had been discharged at a home on Muskoday First Nation. Investigators determined that three masked men forced their way into a home, discharged a firearm and bear mace, and pointed a gun at an occupant while demanding belongings, including a phone and wallet. No physical injuries were reported.
