March was also a huge lead for the city, seeing building permit values totalling nearly $100 million.

Saskatchewan’s other major city, Saskatoon, saw building permit value decrease year over year by 6.6 per cent between April 2025 and April 2026.
Although Saskatoon recorded a $132.1 million building permit value for April 2026.

“Both the non-residential sector (-10.5%) and the residential sector (-5.5%) contributed to the decline in construction intentions,” noted the report.
