REGINA — Regina Coun. Victoria Flores (Ward 6) has been appointed to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) board of directors.
Made up of more than 2,000 members, the FCM helps represent over 90 per cent of Canada’s population.
"I am incredibly honoured to join the FCM board of directors to ensure our national
Advocacy stays deeply rooted in the lived experiences of our residents," said Flores in a media release.
Flores said she is looking forward to collaborating with leaders on addressing key issues facing cities, including housing, food security and community infrastructure.
As part of her role, Flores will shape policy priorities based on concerns of municipal governments.
Throughout the year, board members meet and are recommended by the standing policy committees on issues like climate change and public safety.
Each board position is filled through annual elections at FCM’s annual general meeting.
