SASKATOON — Two people are facing charges after a stabbing over the weekend that left a teenager injured and led to a second assault at the same home in Kensington.
On June 20, at approximately 11:55 p.m., police were called to the 200 block of Ells Crescent for a report of a stabbing.
Officers arrived on scene and located a 17-year-old male with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital by paramedics. The suspect was an 18-year-old woman who was arrested on scene without further incident. While at SPS detention, officers learned she had an injury consistent with a stab wound. She was taken to hospital for further treatment.
Through their investigation, officers learned another woman at the scene attempted to intervene in the initial altercation when a separate male at the residence assaulted her. The male was arrested without further incident.
All involved individuals are believed to be known to one another.
As a result, an 18-year-old woman has been charged with aggravated assault and a 17-year-old man has been charged with assault and assault by choking.
