THE BATTLEFORDS — Update: A teenager has died following a rollover near Cochin.
On June 25 at approximately 4:55 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 4, approximately eight kilometres north of Cochin.
Officers responded along with local fire and EMS. One of the vehicle’s passengers was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. They have been identified as a teenager from North Battleford. Their family has been notified.
The second passenger and driver of the vehicle were both transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as non-life threatening in nature.
Highway 4 was closed for the initial investigation, but both lanes are now open.
Battlefords RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

RCMP said the investigation is in its preliminary stages and no additional details are available at this time.
Both lanes of Highway 4 are closed for an undetermined amount of time. Motorists should expect delays in the area.
Police are asking drivers to slow down and follow the instructions of emergency personnel on scene.
