LLOYDMINSTER, Alta., — Shots fired near the Lloydminster Travelodge have prompted a police investigation, with officers appealing to the public for help locating multiple vehicles and persons of interest.
On June 26 at approximately 7:57 p.m., the Lloydminster RCMP responded to a report of shots fired near the hotel on the Alberta side of the border city.
As part of the investigation, police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two white, four-door BMW SUVs with unknown licence plates. One of the SUVs is believed to have sustained rear-end damage. Both vehicles were last seen travelling southbound on 50th Avenue near 36th Street.
Investigators are also attempting to identify and locate a black Dodge Ram pick-up truck and a dark-coloured Hyundai sedan that may be connected to the investigation.
One suspect was last seen wearing a tan hoodie, tan pants and white shoes. Also present were a woman wearing a red shirt and black pants, and a man wearing a white shirt and green shorts with white trim.
Police say they don't believe there is an ongoing threat to public safety.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, observed any of the vehicles described above, or has dashcam footage, surveillance video, or any other information that may assist the investigation is asked to call the Lloydminster RCMP detachment at 780-808-8400.
