REGINA — A couple of weather watches remain in effect in southern Saskatchewan in the evening of June 27.
A tornado watch is in effect for communities in 41 RMs, including Estevan, Weyburn and Carlyle. According to Environment Canada, conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible.
Significant damage or destruction to infrastructure, homes and the natural environment is possible, the watch said.
As for the thunderstorm watch, the cities of Regina and Moose Jaw are affected, along with communities in 66 RMs.
“Some travel delays are possible. Local utility outages are possible,” the advisory said.
