REGINA — As Regina is set to celebrate Canada Day, hours of operation for public facilities may vary on the holiday.
SaskToday has provided a full list of what is open and closed on Wednesday:
City of Regina:
- Civic offices: closed;
- Landfill: open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., entrance closes at 5:15 p.m.;
- Household Hazardous Waste Material Depot: closed;
- Waste collection: usual schedule;
- Transit: operating on a Sunday schedule;
- Paratransit: operating from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.;
- Riverside Memorial Park and local cemeteries: Gates open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m., offices closed;
- North West Leisure Centre: open from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.;
- Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre: open between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.;
- Wascana Outdoor Pool: open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.;
- Maple Leaf Outdoor Pool: operating from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.;
- Buffalo Meadows, Regent and Massey Outdoor Pools: all open from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.;
- Fieldhouse and Lawson Aquatic Centre: open between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.;
- Neil Balkwill Civics Art Centre: open from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.;
- Paid parking zones: payment for parking is not in effect.
Wascana Centre:
A full day of events is planned at the Wascana Centre for the 2026 Regina Canada Day.
The day begins at 8:30 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast.
Throughout the day, both markets and food vendors will be open between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Starting in the afternoon, there will be performances from Ooo La La, Tequila Wranglers, Kriss The Sky, Rock Solid, Doctor Rocktopus, and Doug and the Slugs.
The day of celebrations will wrap up with fireworks beginning at 10:30 p.m.
Government House:
The Government House will host its annual Canada Day celebration from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The celebration includes the Saskatchewan RCMP Pipes and Drums, a petting zoo, and shows from the Saskatchewan Science Centre.
All events are open to the public and will be free.
RCMP Heritage Centre:
The RCMP Heritage Centre is holding its free annual Canada Day celebrations between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Visitors can check out activity stations, including Prairie-themed crafts and the Alberta Stampede obstacle course.
There will also be free face painting for kids and photo stations.
Regina Public Library:
All Regina Public Library branches will be closed on Wednesday to observe Canada Day.
