CANDO — Battlefords RCMP are working to identify and locate suspects in the investigation of a shooting near Cando.
On June 27 at approximately 3:45 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of an injured male at a hospital in North Battleford.
The investigation determined the male observed a truck stopped on the side of a road near Cando. He approached the truck to see if the occupants needed assistance. The driver exited the truck and discharged a firearm, injuring the male. The driver re-entered the truck and fled from the area. The male was taken to hospital and reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.
At the time of the incident, the truck had two male occupants. The passenger in the truck is described as tall, and he was wearing a face covering. Police say they do not have further details about the driver at this time.
The truck was described as a dark-coloured Dodge.
Battlefords RCMP are asking anyone with information about this incident, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the Cando area in the early hours of June 27, to contact police by calling 310-RCMP.
