NORTH BATTLEFORD — Notre Dame de Lourdes Parish on 105th Street in North Battleford was one of the churches vandalized in the recent incident.
On June 30, two churches on 108th Street and one church on 105th Street each had one of their doors spray painted by vandals.
Battlefords RCMP are investigating and looking for the suspect(s).
Notre Dame Parish office secretary Rose Balfour was upset to see the door of the church vandalized.
"It's senseless," she said. "It's sad that people do that. I don't know if it's for attention. It's hard to know what the message is, what they are trying to say."
The church painted over the vandalism as soon as it was discovered.
"We painted over it right away so that it would be up to par again," Balfour said.
Balfour said the church hasn't dealt with other acts of vandalism recently.
"We had to upgrade our security and locks, and everything because they [vandals] did break into the building last fall, but we haven't really had other vandalism," she said.
Battlefords RCMP are asking anyone with information about the church vandalism incidents to contact police by calling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
