REGINA — Construction season is underway in Regina. Here are some traffic tips for drivers, according to the City of Regina's website.
Lewvan Drive Repaving – Parliament Ave to Highway 1
Starting July 5, Lewvan Drive will be restricted from Parliament Avenue to Highway 1 for repaving work. From July 5 to 10, southbound lanes will be closed, and two-way traffic will be maintained on the northbound lanes.
Here are some longer-term restrictions:
11th Avenue – McIntyre to Albert Street
Until Oct. 30, 11th Ave from McIntyre to Albert St will be closed to complete water and roadways work as part of the 11th Avenue Revitalization Project. Work began May 12.
Wascana Street – 17th Avenue to 19th Avenue
Until July 24, lane restrictions will occur to reline a watermain. Work began May 11.
McCarthy Boulevard – Mikkleson Drive to 4th Avenue
Until July 31, there will be lane restrictions to allow crews to clean and reline a sewer main. See Regina.ca/Southwest for details. Work started April 27.
Reynolds Street – 19th Avenue to Broadway Avenue
Until Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. there will be road closures on a block-by-block basis to install new storm water mains, water main replacement, curb and sidewalk replacement and roadway reconstruction. Work began March 30.
College Avenue – Angus Street to Albert Street
Until Aug. 31 there will be a lane restriction on the northside curb lane. Work began March 20.
Broadway Avenue – Francis Street to Edgar Street
Until Sept. 7, lane restrictions will occur to complete drainage work. Work began May 11.
Albert Street North – Bridge over Ring Road
Until Oct. 31 two-way traffic will be diverted to the southbound bridge for bridge reconstruction. The northbound exit ramp onto Ring Road eastbound will also be closed. Work began March 23.
