Police in Regina have arrested a man and a woman following an investigation into drug and firearms-related offences.
An investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit into illegal activities resulted in a search warrant on May 29, 2020 at a residence on the 3900 block of Green Falls Drive in southeast Regina.
At 9:50 p.m. that night, officers saw a vehicle arrive and was occupied by one of the suspects from the investigation. The man left the vehicle and attempted to run away from police, but officers manage to arrest him without further incident.
Police found substances believed to be fentanyl and methamphetamine on the individual, along with cash, four cell phones and other items connected to drug trafficking.
Upon searching the residence, police also found more cash, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, packing and a sawed-off rifle. The woman was arrested at the residence.
23-year-old Marlon Roland Whitehawk and 26-year-old Tayler Joy Williamson, both from Regina, are facing multiple charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Whitehawk is also facing a breach of probation charge.
Both individuals appeared in provincial court on Monday morning.
