China has imposed a 73.5 per cent tariff on Canadian pea starch.
The tariff went into effect July 1 and follows an anti-dumping investigation launched back in August of 2025.
China accounted for 36 per cent of total pea starch exports from Canada in 2024. That grew to 48 per cent in 2025.
