A huge shout out to Mark Johnston! Not only is Mark our morning co-worker at Play 92, but he is a wonderful community guy that enjoys spreading good feelings everywhere. He knows so many people that work perfectly into his master feel good plan. Mark took the idea of celebrating CKRM’s 100th Anniversary to his friend Dustin Ritter, who is the Paper Crane Art Facilitator at Ranch Ehrlo Society and this photo represents the completed project. Ritter’s art work is fabulous, but the icing on the cake or the artwork is the people he entrusts to fulfill the completion of the work.
In our interview, Dustin Ritter speaks to the project and what techniques they used including he use of bingo dabbers! Yep, you heard that right! BINGO DABBERS! You can’t really see the detail in this photo and the size of the piece. But it is fantastic. The Roughriders and the Regina Pats represented in the work compliments what broadcasts you hear throughout the year. And U of R Rams – sorry, the balance of things didn’t work in your favour, but we love those broadcasts too!!
The old “RKO” tower with the electrical bolts flying out are so classic, the wheat and canola, the grass and all the beauty of Saskatchewan along a grid road that takes you into the heart of Regina. Three grain elevators, the Hill Towers and the Legislative Building, all iconic pieces of Saskatchewan skylines. This piece is a treasure and will proudly be displayed at our 100th anniversary this weekend, then hung in our CKRM Studio.

Dustin Ritter and Eric Black delivered this amazing piece of art work. Ranch Ehrlo Society’s The Paper Crane Art project put in some hours to create this under the direction of Art Facilitator Dustin. Listen into how it all came to be.
