LITTLE PINE FIRST NATION – Cut Knife RCMP have arrested two wanted individuals and recovered a stolen vehicle on Little Pine First Nation.
On July 15, Cut Knife RCMP received a report of a vehicle driving erratically on Little Pine First Nation. The investigation determined an individual wanted by police was potentially inside of it.
Officers located the vehicle, which fled from them. Soon after, officers located the vehicle abandoned in a field behind a house.
With the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services and Critical Incident Response Team, four individuals were arrested at the residence.
Officers determined the vehicle had been reported as stolen in Minburn, Alta., on July 12.
As a result of the continued investigation, a 27-year-old man, from Cold Lake, Alta., is charged with one count, possession of the property of crime over $5,000 and one count, possession of ammunition contrary to order.
He was also arrested on a warrant from Correctional Service Canada for breach of parole.
The suspect appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on July 16..
A 23-year-old woman, from Sweetgrass First Nation, was arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court, for charges of possession of property obtained by crime and failure to stop after an accident.
She appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on July 16.
The other two individuals arrested were released without charges.
Cut Knife RCMP continue to investigate, including working to identify the individual who was believed to be driving the vehicle that fled from police.
