AHTAHKAKOOP – Ahtahkakoop RCMP have charged a man with forcible confinement and sexual interference.
The investigation determined a man had been communicating with a teenaged girl on social media. On July 12, he met the girl on Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation. He left with her in his vehicle. The incident was immediately reported to police.
Officers determined their location. The girl was located and the man was arrested at a residence in Nipawin approximately two hours after receiving the initial call.
As a result of the continued investigation, a 22-year-old man, from Nipawin, is charged with one count, unlawful confinement and one count, sexual interference.
He appeared in Nipawin Provincial Court on July 16.
Saskatchewan RCMP’s Nipawin RCMP, Forensic Identification Services and Serious Crimes Unit assisted with this investigation.
