REGINA — Construction season is underway in Regina. Here are some traffic tips for drivers, according to the City of Regina's website.
Ring Road Repaving – Albert Street to Winnipeg Street
From July 24 to 28, Ring Road will be closed and restricted from Albert Street to Winnipeg Street for repaving work.
- This project will utilize overnight and weekend work to minimize impact to residents. It will occur in two phases.
- Please follow all signage.
- Timelines are subject to change due to weather delays.
Part 1: July 24 to 26
- Ring Road Eastbound
- Starting at 7 p.m. on July 24 until 6 a.m. on July 26:
- Ring Road eastbound will be restricted to the right lane between Albert Street and Winnipeg Street and closed under the Winnipeg Street overpass. Traffic will use the Winnipeg Street ramps to continue on Ring Road.
- Starting at 7 p.m. on July 24 until 6 a.m. on July 26:
- Ring Road Westbound
- Starting at 5 p.m. on July 25 until 6 a.m. on July 27:
- Ring Road westbound will be restricted to the right lane between Winnipeg Street and Albert Street and closed under the Winnipeg Street overpass. Traffic will use the Winnipeg Street ramps to continue on Ring Road.
- Starting at 5 p.m. on July 25 until 6 a.m. on July 27:
- Winnipeg Street Bridge
- Starting at 7 p.m. on July 24 until 6 a.m. on July 27:
- The Winnipeg Street Bridge will be closed to traffic in both directions to accommodate the Ring Road detours.
- Starting at 7 p.m. on July 24 until 6 a.m. on July 27:
Part 2: July 27 to 28
- Ring Road Westbound
- Starting at 5 a.m. on July 27 until 6 a.m. on July 28:
- Ring Road westbound will be restricted to the left lane between Winnipeg Street and Albert Street. The exit ramp to Albert Street south, Highway 6 and Highway 11 will be closed.
- Starting at 5 a.m. on July 27 until 6 a.m. on July 28:
- Ring Road Eastbound
- Starting at 5 a.m. on July 28 until 6 a.m. on July 29:
- Ring Road eastbound will be restricted to the left lane between Albert Street and Winnipeg Street. The ramp from 9th Ave N to Ring Road eastbound will be closed.
- Starting at 5 a.m. on July 28 until 6 a.m. on July 29:
McCarthy Blvd Northbound Closure at Mikkelson Drive
Starting July 22, McCarthy Boulevard between Mikkelson Drive and 1st Avenue North will be closed to northbound traffic until Aug. 4.
Northbound traffic should follow the detour route. Southbound traffic is restricted to one lane.
The timeline is subject to change due to weather delays.
11th Avenue – Albert Street to Cornwall Street
Until Oct. 30, 11th Ave from Albert Street to Cornwall Street will be closed to complete water and roadways work as part of the 11th Avenue Revitalization Project. Work began May 12.
Wascana Street – 17th Avenue to 19th Avenue
Until July 24, lane restrictions will occur to reline a watermain. Work began May 11.
McCarthy Boulevard – Mikkleson Drive to 4th Avenue
Until July 31, there will be lane restrictions to allow crews to clean and reline a sewer main. See Regina.ca/Southwest for details. Work started April 27.
Reynolds Street – 19th Avenue to Broadway Avenue
Until Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. there will be road closures on a block-by-block basis to install new storm water mains, water main replacement, curb and sidewalk replacement and roadway reconstruction. Work began March 30.
College Avenue – Angus Street to Albert Street
Until Aug. 31 there will be a lane restriction on the northside curb lane. Work began March 20.
Broadway Avenue – Francis Street to Edgar Street
Until Sept. 7, lane restrictions will occur to complete drainage work. Work began May 11.
Albert Street North – Bridge over Ring Road
Until Oct. 31 two-way traffic will be diverted to the southbound bridge for bridge reconstruction. The northbound exit ramp onto Ring Road eastbound will also be closed. Work began March 23.
