REGINA — A 27-year-old man has been arrested after an incident Sunday morning in North Central Regina.
On July 26, at approximately 1 a.m., patrolling officers responded to the 1100 block of Cameron Street after receiving a report of an assault in progress.
When officers arrived, they located an injured man lying in the roadway. During the investigation, officers determined that he was the suspect in an earlier assault on a woman.
The investigation revealed that the suspect had allegedly assaulted the woman before being confronted by a man who intervened. An altercation then occurred between the two men, resulting in the suspect sustaining injuries.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and treated by EMS before being transported to hospital for further assessment. Officers located a pipe that had been used as a weapon during the assault.
Braydon Lavallee was charged with sexual assault with a weapon and assault with a weapon.
He appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Monday.
