REGINA — As workers begin setting up the Queen City Ex (QCX), an inclusive event is returning to the fair.
In a news release, the Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) said Kidway Morning, a quieter and more comfortable environment for up to 200 children with sensory sensitivities, will be available at the event.
As part of Kidway Morning, select attractions will feature adjusted music, lighting and sound levels, while interactive play areas and activities will be modified to create a more accessible experience for guests with diverse needs.
Additionally, designated areas will be available for individuals who need a break from crowds or a quiet place to regroup.
“We want every guest to feel welcome, included, and able to make lasting memories,” said Trent Fraser, acting president and CEO of REAL.
He added that this event ensures the event can be comfortable and enjoyable for all abilities.
On-site for the Kidway Morning will be the Joshua Tree Learning Centre to help support guests.
“Creating inclusive experiences allows every child to participate, connect, and make lasting memories,” said Stacey Adelman, CEO and founder of the Joshua Tree Learning Centre. “We’re honoured to support Kidway Morning and the community partners who are making accessibility a priority for families across Regina.”
The Kidway will take place on July 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
