SASKATOON — A 53-year-old Cudworth woman charged in connection with an alleged six-figure fraud had a scheduled appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court on July 27. The matter was adjourned to Aug. 18 for election.
Rebecca Mary Steele is accused of misappropriating more than $340,000 from a Saskatoon business where she provided bookkeeping services.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, the charges stem from a lengthy investigation by the SPS Economic Crime Section. Police said they received a report on June 19, 2025, from business owners who believed large sums of money had been diverted from company accounts.
Police say the funds were used for personal expenses and significant purchases, including a Ford F-150. In December 2025, police charged Steele with fraud over $5,000 and trafficking in proceeds of crime over $5,000
