SASKATOON — A 22-year-old man faces several charges after fleeing a traffic stop and crashing into city infrastructure late Wednesday night.
According to Saskatoon Police Service, at around 11:50 p.m. on July 29, an officer patrolling in the area of Dagnone Crescent and Brighton Gate attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle. As the officer was conducting the traffic stop, the driver put the vehicle back into drive and fled at a high rate of speed.
The driver evaded police for a short distance before colliding with city infrastructure in the area of McOrmond Drive and Stensrud Road. He was arrested without further incident and found to be wanted on several criminal code warrants.
In addition to the execution of his warrants, he has been further charged with obstruction, evading police, dangerous driving, and breaching court-imposed conditions.
