REGINA — A 26-year-old woman is facing charge after a dangerous driving incident.
At approximately 3 a.m. on July 30, officers responded to a report of a dangerous driver in the area of Highway 11 and 9th Avenue North.
The vehicle had previously been stopped by the RCMP. During that interaction, the male was driving the vehicle and exited it while officers conducted their investigation before subsequently fleeing the scene. When the vehicle entered the Regina Police Service's jurisdiction, the female was driving.
The Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit (ASU) located the vehicle and maintained observation. Officers successfully deployed a tire deflation device, and the vehicle travelled a short distance before coming to a stop.
The female driver and male passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The male was taken into custody a short time later with the assistance of a Police Service Dog and sustained minor injuries consistent with a dog bite. The female was arrested without incident.
The male is facing charges through the RCMP in relation to the initial traffic stop. As a result of this investigation, the woman is charged with flight from a peace officer. She will appear in Regina court on Sept. 15.
