MEADOW LAKE — A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in September for a 24-year-old man charged with second-degree murder in the death of Brandon Martell.
The hearing will determine if there is enough evidence for Skye Lasas, of Waterhen Lake First Nation, to stand trial.
According to RCMP, officers received a report at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 30 of an injured man on Waterhen Lake First Nation. Martel was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
