MOOSE JAW — The Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) has announced a firearms-related charge.
According to a news release from the MJPS, on Aug. 1 at approximately 8:15 p.m., police attended a residence to conduct a well-being check.
Upon arrival, police said officers encountered a man who appeared to be wielding a firearm. The individual complied with police commands and was taken into custody without incident.
A replica firearm was seized, the MJPS said, and the man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
According to the MJPS, the incident remains under investigation.
