The Western Canadian Baseball League playoff picture will come down to the final day of the regular season after a busy night around the league Tuesday.
The Weyburn Beavers kept their playoff hopes alive with a 4-3 win over the Saskatoon Berries at Tom Laing Park.
Noah Brooks had three hits, including a home run, while Brayden Mayencourt also had three hits as Weyburn improved to 21-and-33.
The Beavers are now just one game behind Medicine Hat for the final playoff spot in the East Division. Weyburn will finish its regular season with a doubleheader Wednesday in Regina against the Red Sox.
Saskatoon was led by Brock Laird and Gael Salinas, who had three hits apiece. The Berries will now prepare for their first-round playoff series against Regina, which begins Friday in Saskatoon.
In Moose Jaw, the Miller Express put together a huge offensive performance, scoring 11 runs in the second inning on their way to a 22-5 win over Regina.
Ben Waliczek and Chris Franks each had four hits, while Thomas Soto added two triples. The Miller Express finished with 22 hits in the game.
Moose Jaw will close out the regular season Wednesday in Saskatoon.
Meanwhile, Medicine Hat missed an opportunity to clinch the final playoff spot, falling 12-10 to the Swift Current 57's.
WCBL home-run leader Jake Hiromoto went four-for-four with his league-leading 22nd homer of the season. Hudson Unger and Hunter Fujimoto added three hits each for Swift Current.
The Mavericks made things interesting with four runs in the ninth inning. Evan Morrison led Medicine Hat with two home runs, three hits and five RBIs.
The Mavericks and 57's will meet again Wednesday at Mitchell Field to wrap up their regular seasons.
Elsewhere, the Lethbridge Bulls and Brooks Bombers split a doubleheader, with Lethbridge taking the opener 16-8 before Brooks responded with a 14-7 win.
The Sylvan Lake Gulls beat the Fort McMurray Giants 7-1, while the Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Energy City Cactus Rats 12-7 in a preview of a first-round West Division playoff matchup.
