Heartstrings and Honkytonks will be stopping in Regina at Darke Hall on September 21st at 7pm featuring the Johner Brothers, Clayton Bellamy, Michelle Wright, Dan Davidson, Evan Baxter, and Kalsey Kulyk.
“Beautiful Darke Hall. We did a showcase there for the Saskatchewan Arts Council one time last year and it’s such a beautiful venue,” gushed singer Brad Johner. “If you’ve never been to Darke Hall you have to go there and see a show because it’s a fantastic place.”
The Heartstrings and Honkytonks show is a combination of the intimate atmosphere of the iconic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville with the live music of the Ryman Auditorium featuring an all Canadian lineup of musical guests.
“Been to the Bluebird a number of times and it’s a great venue,” Johner says. “Guys just sit on stools and they tell the stories of how they wrote their songs and I really enjoy that style of show because it is very intimate and you can get into the ins and outs of the songwriting aspect of the songs you hear on the radio.”
Johner has reunited with his brother and his kids for a number of shows this summer including at Candle Lake, Weyburn, and recently at Rawhides in Stenen, where Johner enjoys a good steak.
“It truly is one of the better steak houses in Saskatchewan for sure. Love it there,” noted Johner who enjoys his steak cooked medium.
