REGINA – The city will be packed with things to see, hear and do Saturday as a wide range of festivals, markets, family activities, sports and live music take place across Regina.
One of the biggest additions to the city's summer calendar is the debut of The Exchange Folk Festival at Victoria Park. The free event begins at noon and features performances from Foxwarren, The Besnard Lakes, The Sadies, Andino Suns and The North Sound.
Victoria Park will already be busy earlier in the morning, with the Saskatchewan Highland Gathering and Celtic Festival getting underway at 8 a.m. The event brings traditional Highland athletic competitions, pipes and drums to downtown Regina.
Music lovers have another free option in the afternoon with the second annual Folkwakker! acoustic tribute concert. The event starts at 1 p.m. on the outdoor patio at Bushwakker Brewpub.
Families also have plenty of options throughout the day.
The Wascana Parkrun will celebrate its eighth birthday at 9 a.m. with a free five-kilometre run, lawn games and complimentary protein ice cream.
At 10 a.m., Oskana Day gets underway at Wascana Place, featuring Indigenous cultural activities, traditional games, tipi displays, live art and an owl exhibit showcasing Saskatchewan's owl species.
Children can also meet Chase and Marshall during the Paw Patrol Puppy Party at The Landing at Grasslands. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will raise money for Running Wild Animal Rescue.
For those looking to browse local vendors, the Summer Market and Community Expo continues Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the South Leisure Centre and Realtors Park, with artisans, fashion businesses and food trucks.
Government House will also host its Victorian Tea Weekend and an antique and collectibles market beginning at noon.
Several estate sales are taking place for anyone looking for vintage items, furniture or household finds. The Gryphons Walk Sale runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., while the Lamont Crescent Estate Event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sports and automotive events round out the day's activities.
The Majestics Car Club Show and Shine and Dyno Day Weekend will bring custom cars, classic vehicles and high-performance demonstrations to the Bunge International Trade Centre.
The Co-operators Centre will host Ringette Challenge Cup games throughout the day, giving sports fans another option for Saturday entertainment.
And for a more relaxed afternoon, German Club Biergarten Days opens at 2 p.m., offering traditional German food, drinks and an outdoor patio that welcomes families and dogs.
The evening keeps the music going with BBQ & Beats 2026 at Eastview Park, featuring local food and sets from DJ C, Hayzeed and Wiz Mix.
Those looking to dance can head to the Revival Music Room, where the Steel Toed Booty Retro Dance Party starts at 7 p.m. with music from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
