REGINA – Regina is closing out the weekend with a full slate of activities Sunday, giving residents plenty of chances to shop, explore, get creative or catch some live sports.
The Summer Market is back for its final day at the South Leisure Centre and Realtor’s Park, running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event features indoor and outdoor vendors, local artisans, entrepreneurs, food trucks and other community businesses.
For those looking to spend some time outdoors, Picnic on the Island runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Willow Island Overlook in Wascana Centre. Free ferry rides take visitors across Wascana Lake to the island, offering a different view of the park and surrounding area.
Sports fans can head to The Co-operators Centre as the Ringette Challenge Cup wraps up its four-day run in Regina. The tournament runs from Aug. 6 to 9 and features nine provincial teams playing 23 games as athletes prepare for the 2027 Canada Winter Games.
Car enthusiasts also have an early start Sunday, with the Majestics Car Club’s Dyno Day running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bunge International Trade Centre. The weekend event showcases vehicles and high-performance testing, with Sunday dedicated to dyno runs.
Creative activities take over in the afternoon. The MacKenzie Art Gallery hosts Weekly We Make: Exquisite Monster from 1 to 3 p.m. The free drop-in workshop invites people of all ages to create strange and imaginative creatures inspired by Surrealist art. Materials are provided.
Young gamers can head to the Regina Public Library’s George Bothwell Branch at 2 p.m. for Smash Sundays. The free program runs from 2 to 4 p.m. and gives youth ages seven to 14 a chance to compete in a friendly Super Smash Bros. tournament.
Craft enthusiasts can also drop into Stitch, Make and Chat at the Sherwood Village Branch from 2 to 4 p.m. The free gathering gives people a chance to work on quilting, knitting, beading, scrapbooking, cross-stitch and other personal projects while socializing with others.
There is also an option for one-on-one adapted swimming Sunday. Adapted Swim Lessons at the Regent Place Branch run from 11:20 to 11:50 a.m. and are designed for individuals with disabilities, with instructors adapting lessons to participants’ needs and goals. Registration is required.
For a science-focused outing, the Saskatchewan Science Centre is open Sunday from noon to 6 p.m., with the Journey to Space exhibition continuing through October 6. The exhibition explores how astronauts live and work in space and the challenges of human spaceflight.
And for those looking to make an afternoon of exploring Regina’s craft beer scene, Hop Circuit 2026 continues at participating breweries in the Warehouse District. The self-guided experience runs through Sept. 6, allowing visitors to explore participating breweries and collect stamps along the way.
From a morning car showcase and a lakeside ferry ride to afternoon art, gaming and crafting, Regina offers plenty of ways to finish the weekend with something different.
