REGINA — A 48-year-old Regina man is facing several charges after an investigation into a property damage complaint that led to a significant weapons seizure.
Ryan Robison appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Monday following his arrest on Saturday.
According to Regina Police Service, on Aug. 8, shortly before 6 p.m., police were called to the 100 block of Dorothy Street for a report of an intoxicated person who was damaging property. Officers arrived in the area and located the suspect driving away.
A traffic stop was conducted and the occupant, a 48-year-old man, was arrested for impaired driving. Police seized a knife, that fell from his lap, as he was being taken into custody. During the arrest, the suspect also repeatedly uttered death threats against a man known to him.
Further investigation led police to obtain a search warrant for a residence in the 700 block of McIntosh Street. On Aug. 9, officers executed the search warrant. Police seized a loaded and unlocked shotgun, three unloaded non-restricted rifles with trigger locks, a prohibited assault rifle with a trigger lock, two unloaded non-restricted rifles without trigger locks, ammunition, two BB guns and extra trigger locks/keys.
Robison was charged with impaired driving, possession of a weapon, uttering threats, break and enter and commit an indictable offence. He was also charged with three counts each of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.
