Suspect arrested after assault on Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation

MUSCOWPETUNG SAULTEAUX NATION — Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP have arrested a suspect in relation to a serious assault.

On Aug. 12, at approximately 6:05 a.m., Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP received a report of a serious assault at a residence on Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation.

The investigation determined a man allegedly assaulted a victim with a weapon, then fled.

The victim, also a man, was taken to the hospital by STARS with injuries described as serious in nature.

As a result of the continued investigation, officers located and arrested the adult male suspect a short time later on Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation.

The court information has not been sworn, so police say they are unable to identify the individual who was arrested at this time. Updates will be provided when possible.
