SASKATCHEWAN — People across Saskatchewan can help support the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation by purchasing a treat.
All proceeds from Blizzards purchased at Dairy Queen locations across the province on Thursday will support the annual Miracle Treat Day campaign, with funds going toward the hospital.
“It’s a huge fundraiser for us, so we’re hoping people go out and buy some items,” said Jada Cook, engagement manager with the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation.
Last year, the fundraiser raised $282,000 across 55 provincial locations, including a good turnout in Moosomin.
“They go all out every year. They raised over $40,000 last year in one day selling blizzards. They get a bus, and they serve the communities around them.”
The money raised helped over 83,000 kids and moms who visited the hospital, 650 communities, explained Cook.
“It helps fund specialized pediatric and maternal equipment, innovative research and vital programming to keep our Saskatchewan kids and families close to home for the care they need.”
