LLOYDMINSTER — A former manager of the Lloydminster Housing Authority facing fraud and theft charges related to a non-profit organization had her first scheduled appearance in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Aug. 17.
Lori Neufeld, 49, of Marsden, didn’t appear in person. Instead, a lawyer appeared on her behalf and the matter was adjourned to Sept. 14 to enter a plea.
Neufeld was charged with fraud over $5,000 and theft over $5,000 after Lloydminster RCMP investigated reports of financial irregularities involving a former employee of the Lloydminster Housing Authority. The investigation determined that approximately $10,000 worth of fuel was allegedly obtained for personal use through unauthorized use of organizational resources. Investigators also determined that approximately $6,000 worth of flooring materials had been stolen from the organization.
As part of the investigation, Lloydminster RCMP executed a search warrant at a property in Marsden, with assistance from the Saskatchewan Crime Reduction Team (CRT). During the search, officers recovered 31 of the 52 boxes of flooring that had been reported stolen.
