ALVENA, WAKAW — A cash reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest or conviction of whoever was involved in shooting two moose, leaving them to waste in two separate incidents recently.
On Aug. 19, conservation officers received a TIPP call reporting a bull moose that was unlawfully shot and left to waste on private land northeast of Alvena at NW 15-41-28 W2. Officers attended the scene and collected some evidence, and believe that the moose was shot sometime between Aug. 14 and 17.
On Aug. 10, conservation officers received a TIPP call reporting an unlawfully shot moose west of the Town of Wakaw on private land at SW 03-43-27 W2. Officers attended the area and found a moose that was largely left to waste, with only some meat taken. It is believed that the moose was harvested during the late evening of Aug. 6 or early morning of Aug. 7.
The public's help is needed to solve this case, say posts on the Sasktip Facebook page. Anyone with information should call the toll-free provincial Turn-In-Poachers and Polluters (TIPP) line at 1-800-667-7561.
