ESTEVAN, Sask. — Estevan Police Service (EPS) was kept busy on Aug. 31 responding to calls that included a report of a collision and a lost or stolen fanny pack.
A complaint of a motorist failing to advise another vehicle owner that they had damaged their vehicle in a parking lot was received. Witness statements were obtained and the matter remains under investigation.
EPS members conducted a well-being check on a female at the request of a friend. She was located and found to be safe and well.
A complaint of a lost or stolen fanny pack that contained a small amount of cash and credit cards was received. The complainant was advised to cancel all of their banking cards. Anyone who locates a similar bag may drop it off at EPS to be returned to the owner.
A report of a two-vehicle collision in a parking lot in the central area of Estevan was received. Members attended and assisted the vehicle owners in exchanging information.
In another incident, EPS received multiple calls regarding two youth on King Street who were stopping vehicles in traffic and yelling and swearing at drivers. Members attended and arrested the two youth, who were transported to EPS and charged with trespass by night and causing a disturbance. Both were later released into the care of their parents and will appear in Estevan Youth Court at a later date to speak to the charges. Police are aware of several social media posts from members of the public describing similar interactions over the last several weeks.
