REGINA, Sask. — A 37-year-old woman who was the victim of an aggravated assault in North Central Regina in mid-August has died from her injuries, and police say it’s now a murder investigation.
On Aug. 14, at approximately 4 a.m., Regina police were called to the 1400 block of Wascana Street, in the west alley, for a report of an injured person.
When they arrived, they found Rebecca Autumn (Wilson) Mathieson, suffering from significant injuries. She was taken to hospital by EMS and, on Aug. 30, she died.
Investigators with the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit are working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to determine the circumstances that led to the victim’s death.
This is the city’s fifth homicide of 2026.
