SASKATOON, Sask. — Three male youths are facing charges following an incident where three youths tried to steal a 14-year-old's e-bike in the city’s Kensington area on Thursday evening.
At around 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 3, police were called to the area of Kloppenburg Street and Kloppenburg Link for a robbery in progress. The caller indicated three males robbed another male. It was also reported that one of the males had a gun.
Through their initial investigation, police learned the three youth males attempted to steal a 14-year-old’s e-bike, assaulted him, and pointed bear spray at him before running away.
Responding officers located one male matching one of the suspect descriptions and he was arrested without further incident. The two other male suspects were arrested shortly after. The handle of a cap gun was located following a search incident to arrest.
As a result, two males aged 15 and one 14-year-old male have been charged with robbery. One of the 15-year-olds has also been charged with possession of a weapon, disguise with intent, and use of an imitation firearm.
