SASKATOON, Sask. — The Saskatchewan Party continues their efforts this week to put candidates in place well ahead of the 2028 provincial election.
Two nomination meetings are scheduled for this week. On Sept. 9 they host their nomination meeting in White City – Qu'Appelle, where the Sask Party's Brad Crassweller is the incumbent. On Sept. 10, they will hold their nomination in Saskatoon Meeswasin which is currently held by the NDP.
Next week, on Tuesday, Sept. 15, the party will hold its nomination meeting in Saskatchewan Rivers riding where Eric Schmalz is the incumbent.
Last week on Aug. 31, Camille Barzeele was acclaimed as the Saskatchewan Party candidate for Saskatoon Chief Mistawasis for the next provincial vote.
According to the party, Barzeele has lived in the constituency for the past 20 years where she has been owner and operator of a food service business.
“This is my community. I’ve lived here for 20 years, raised my family here, and built my business here,” Barzeele said in a news release. “I’m running because I want to see this part of Saskatoon keep growing, and I’ll work every day to earn the trust of my neighbours.”
Barzeele is the fifth candidate nominated by the Sask Party so far for the next election. The Sask Party is hoping to reclaim the seat, located in an area of Saskatoon that they held for several years before losing to Don McBean of the NDP in 2024.
