REGINA, Sask. — Four men are facing charges following a bear spray incident.
On Sept. 5, at approximately 8 p.m., police received a report of a bear spray incident in the area of Barr Street. The caller reported that four suspects had deployed bear spray on an individual before fleeing on foot.
Officers on the ground alerted the Aerial Support Unit (ASU), which quickly located three individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions near Avonhurst Drive and Elphinstone Street. Patrol officers responded to the area and arrested the three suspects without incident. Approximately two hours later, officers located the fourth suspect in the 100 block of N Quebec Street. He was also arrested without incident.
The victim was treated by EMS for exposure to the bear spray.
All four were charged with mischief under $5,000. One was additionally charged with failing to comply with a release order.
They will make their first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Oct. 20.
