While some summer attractions may close at the end of August or immediately after the Labour Day weekend, you will find treasured places that stretch their summer seasons a bit longer.
Enter the Sukenan Pioneer Village and Museum just south of Moose Jaw. Events throughout the year have included many special events that have drawn visitors from across Canada and the world. The Village Threshing Bee is a big event taking place this Saturday and Sunday. After that the gates will close for the year. A family entertainment weekend reliving the days when horses were involved with threshing. A simpler time with equipment that would be a whole lot easier to fix then then that of equipment today! Or Would It!!
Good Morning Saskatchewan featured Evan Davis this week with a look at the event. Evan is happy to say this has been a great year for the Village. Regular visits during these events help you see the whole cycle of pioneer farming. Each day there will be a pancake breakfast and concessions, CASH ONLY. Admission each day is $10 for adults, two day passes are available. The gates opening at 8am. Some camping available on site. Check out this schedule of events and what is on the agenda each day.
