YORKTON, Sask. — Guilty pleas have been made by two men charged with kidnapping with a firearm following an incident in Yorkton.
On Jan. 20, Mounties say a man was in a parked vehicle on 4th Avenue North when two men wearing face coverings forced him out of the vehicle at gunpoint, placed him in an SUV and drove away.
Police spotted an SUV matching the description on Highway 10, heading toward Melville, but it wouldn't pull over.
The vehicle then hit the ditch and the suspects were arrested.
A search of the SUV turned up a loaded firearm, a firearm magazine, ammunition, about 88 grams of cocaine, about 88 grams of crystal meth and about 16 grams of fentanyl.
Preston Carroll, 24, and Dante Douglas, 20, both of Fort McMurray, Alta., were in Yorkton Provincial Court Sept. 8.
Carroll was sentenced to 1,292 days in prison, while Douglas received 1,112 days in prison.
