ESTEVAN, Sask. — The Estevan Police Service (EPS) has announced firearm-related charges against an Estevan man.
According to the Sept. 8 report from the EPS, members received a report of a man flashing a firearm at other individuals at a business in east Estevan. The EPS said the matter was investigated during night shift.
An investigation identified a 20-year old Estevan man as the suspect, the EPS said, and he was arrested without incident a short time later. He was found to be in possession of a BB gun that the EPS said looked very similar to a larger-calibre firearm. He was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. The man was subsequently released and will appear in Estevan Provincial Court in November to speak to the charges.
In other recent EPS news, a report of a stolen bicycle was received during the day shift. The EPS said the matter remains under investigation.
EPS members responded to a residence in the Valleyview area regarding a domestic disturbance. The EPS said an investigation determined an assault and damage to property had occurred and as a result, a youth was arrested, processed and released. He will appear in Estevan Youth Court at a later date to speak to the charges.
The EPS said it received several reports of a suspicious woman on a bicycle acting erratically during the night shift. Members located a woman who is known to police and who matched the descriptions provided. Police cautioned her about her behaviour before sending her on her way.
